البحر الميت The Dead Sea

Karakالكرك

Stories قصص

So many wonderful things happened between these two photos, you will just have to ask us when we get back about all of our adventures... The one thing I can say with no hesitation is that if you come to Wadi Rum, you must stay at Sheikh Zayid's camp. There is simply no one like The Sheikh and his family/staff. We will all be friends for the rest of our lives. A big thank you goes out here to our fantastic guide, Osama, and to the matchless cooks: Salama and Mutlaq. It was in the hospitality of the great sheikh and in their kind hands that we basked in the magic of the wadi.

Wadi Rum وادي رم

We just arrived to our Dead Sea hotel after three days of making friends, gathering firewood, examining history, hiking, marveling at the stars, playing frisbee and cards, dancing on rock bridges, drinking sweet tea with zaatar, singing, chanting, painting each other with rock dust, and laughing until actually we cried. When I get back from dinner, I will post some pictures that will not even come close to doing justice to the experience we just had.

No phone yet

Hello and marhaba! Thank you for visiting the blog. I hope to see you comments and questions if you have any. You do not need an account to comment. I am still waiting to get a SIM card for my phone, but I am hoping that tomorrow morning will be a good time. Today, we followed up on our visit to Petra with a two-hour Turkish bath for some and a walk around the village of Wadi Moussa for others. We are having fun and dong our best to reapply sunscreen often.
